A few cards...and thoughts

There are three reasons why I have been getting some scrapbooking and card making done lately.

1. I am trying to use up old supplies and paper to make some space for the scrapbooking convention next week. I am also trying out new things to see if I like them.

2. I have a book on CD from the library that I have been listening to while I scrap. It is call the Spellman Files. It is about a family of PIs. It is cute.

3. Lastly (but maybe most importantly), The NJ Devils have been losing lately and I can not take the screaming and yelling, so I am spending more time downstairs in my newly organized craft room. Let's just hope they start winning again.

So, to that end...here are a few cards I made last night.

This one is my first attempt at making an acetate card. It looks neat but does not stand up so well.

I really like the orange and yellow on this one.

Amazingly, I found some sushi stamps from Maya Road. I love them. I think the flocking works really well for the rice and the embossing makes the salmon shine. Mmmm...sushi!

Gandalf kitty mini

This minibook has pictures of the first week we had Gandalf. He really was so small then. I finally finished it. Yeah. There are 6 pages total, here are a few.

Klatsky Book 2009

Here is a mini book I finished so I could take it to mom and dad in Florida.

Just short and sweet. It allowed me to use up some paper before the CKC scrapbook convention next week after I get back.

Gandalf enjoying the sun

When the sun comes out in January everyone is happy, even our grumpy little kitty who is not a fan of all the workers around the house (contractors, plumbers, insulation men).

Here he is soaking it up. Lavi got to go to the dog park to soak in her vitamin D.

Yes, that is his belly hanging down through the hole in the perch.

He is turning into quite a cat, just not as outgoing or carefree as Namir.

Arrgh - Pirate Cards for Kids

Namir's legacy lives on. I created these cards for a Card Drive for Kids. These cards are for sick kids and their families. I though Cat-ain Jack Sparrow could bring a smile to their faces.

The insides read: Ahoy Matey! Hope you have a swashbuckling day! Wishing you fair winds and following seas. Aargh - Cat-ain Jack Sparrow (aka Namir)

Dog show 2010

Yesterday I accompanied Robin and Posha (colored bull terrier) to the Rose City Classic dog show. It was just the first day of 5. She took Best of Opposite Sex. Basically, the Best of Breed went to a male, so she took best female.

Congratulations Robin and Posha!

(UPDATE - Day 2 - Posha took Best in Breed!! She will compete in the Terrier Group later today)

Quick layout and craft update

I have been reorganizing my craft area so I can get busy for the New Year. I know there are some outstanding thank yous to be sent...there on the way. I recently purchased a new scrapbooking tool - the Making Memories Slice. It is a very neat die cutting machine. I am anxious to get busy using it but I am still waiting on a design card I ordered.

Here is a quick layout I did this past weekend. I printed this photo as an 8x10 a while ago when costco was having a printing sale. I am glad I finished it and it is now in the album. I watched a silly movie while making it, Beverly Hills Chihuahua...let's just say it passed the time.

It might seem weird to some that I am still working on pictures of Namir but it helps me feel close to him. I can focus on all the good memories and the times we shared. He was a very special boy.

I am also very lucky that Gandalf is also a love bug and enjoys spending time with both Matt and I. He has his very own personality...not as laid back as Namir...but still terribly endearing. I think Lavi is truly happy to have him around.
