Sunshine!

We enjoyed a delightful day in the sun strolling around the lake. We mostly reveled in the fact that we survived the first year!!

Griffin is also very close to his first real words. It wasn't until we actually saw the ducks that he said something like "duh-h". He did the same thing a few days ago too when we saw two ducks on the path near our house. He does say "mamma-ma" and "dada-da".

Just one more day to enjoy our little guy being under 1. Yikes!

Zoo and other stuff

We went to see the new flamingo exhibit but they were boring. The bats were feeding and it was much more exciting.

Griffin has been sleeping on his tummy lately. The instant we lay him on his back in his crib, he rolls over onto his face and sticks his butt in the air. Too cute.

At play park

We hung out at the play park while daddy was at the gym. There were a few big kids but we mostly had the place to ourselves.

Recent pics

It's been a rough couple weeks without any long stretches of sleep. Griffin must be getting ready to do something big - if learning to play the kazoo at 2:30 am isn't enough.

Scooting

Griffin is now officially mobile. Luckily he is really not in a rush to go anywhere,  We are starting to baby proof everything.

This was his very first time scooting along.

The kitty is affected the most by this milestone. He only walks away a few feet and Griffin follows him.

Tualatin River NWR

We enjoyed a beautiful day at the Tualatin River Nation Wildlife Refuge with Nora. The sun was out. As were the geese, ducks and some other animals, including a groundhog that did a great impression of a statue.

Portland Art Museum

Today we took a trip to the Portland Art Museum for the baby tour, which is led by one of the docents. We talked about different art pieces and listened to her read a book in song. It was great to see Griffin engage and observe everything during this experience.

11 months old already!

Our little guy is already 11 months old. Time flies!! He is finally filling out. Boy is heavy!!

What he is doing these days:

Babbling a lot these days but not saying anything in particular. He signs dog. He repeats the signs for ball and milk when he sees me do them.

Starting to become mobile. He wants to crawl but doesn't quite move his legs when he is on all fours yet. He does move them when he is sitting and goes in circles.

Eating a green smoothie daily, along with other food in pouches (either home made or store bought). We just moved from puffs to Cheerios (well an organic knock off). His treat when we eat out is French fries or piece of bread to gnaw on.
